La lettre n°14

What's new on the Observatoire critique's website ?

As every month, we are suggesting a new artwork and a new artist's screen to you.

Version française

Once choreographers, Madeleine Chiche and Bernard Misrachi – aka the Dunes group – have been delegating the experience of space to the stroller’s body for several years.  The latter is prompted to stroll, think, dream when exposed to audio-visual-conceptual scenographies. Planners of in situ precepts, they are working towards their own turnabout by switching to virtuality ! Room for manoeuvre, it is yours which is responsible for affecting the blinking of the neon-words of the Marseilles’ night from afar (click between 5:00 PM and 0:00 local time). The stroller of the Rue Jobin is not to be envied since he is not entitled to the voice which is spelling the words under the margin, the words under the manoeuvre. MARGE DE MANOEUVRE (Room for manoeuvre), a political message which is stammering during these stunned days. Then (tele-)Action !

Marge de manoeuvre
Groupe Dunes, February 2008

The screensaver represents a kind of gymnastics learning method to practise with your own computer. The artist is offering 8 training sessions each identified by a different color. The computer and its peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor) are the accessories used for the execution of the exercises and the suggested movements. Here the work is conjuring up in a literal and non metaphoric way.

Downloadable screensaver for Windows and Macintosh OS 9.
